Midwest chillin' tour with glen phillips and jonatha brooke
Tue, Dec. 9 2008
I just got home from 9 days out with my good friend Glen Phillips and Jonatha Brooke. We finished up the "just chillin" midwest tour and good golly was it cold. I think us west coast boys are just pansies but now 40 in seattle feels downright balmy. It was great to play with Glen and Jonatha and Glen's hand is healing nicely. Jonatha has a great new record out called "The Works" and Glen has a new one coming out soon with his new band "WPA". check them both out they are great. I get to be home for two weeks now which is oh so exciting and i'll be working to finish up my new CD before I head to Nashville for the month of January. There are some shows in the southeast in GA, KY, TN, NC and SC. Please check the tour page for all the details. Once the album is finished i'll be putting together a "pay off the album" tour so please check back here for all the latest info.
West Coast dates with Glen a go
Tue, Nov. 11 2008
The west coast dates this week with Glen Phillips are on. He is on the road to recovery and i'm covering a lot of the guitar for him but the shows are happening. Portland and San Francisco were fun this past weekend and we'll be in Los Angeles and San Diego wednesday thru friday. All shows will be with Jonatha Brooke as well. I'll also be joining Glen for his midwest dates the first week of December. Please check the tour schedule for the latest info.
East coast dates with Glen Phillips cancelled
Fri, Oct. 17 2008
it looks like the rest of the tour is cancelled. Glen is on the road to recovery but won't be able to play for a while so the rest of the dates have been cancelled. Some of the shows are being re-scheduled for the December tour and the November west coast dates are still a go. I apologize for any inconvenience and i look forward to coming back to the East coast soon.
East Coast dates with Glen Phillips update
Mon, Oct. 13 2008
I am sorry for this last minute announcement, but the shows i was to be playing with Glen Phillips this week and next on the east coast are up in the air. Glen cut his arm last week and is going to need surgery today so he will not be able to do the shows. Jonatha Brooke is still going ahead with the shows and there is a chance i may still go out and open for her but that is up in the air. i will update this site as soon as i get more details. sorry for any inconvenience.
Fall Tour
Tue, Sep. 9 2008
September is all of a sudden upon us and its time to hit the road. We just returned from a great week in Wenatchee, WA where we got to showcase for 400 college students and we look forward to coming to your campuses in the upcoming months.
In other booking news, I have signed on with Degy Entertainment who will be handling my college bookings for the upcoming year. http://www.degy.com For the upcoming tour there a couple of dates have opened up.
For anyone in the Denver (sept 21st) or Salt Lake City (sept 17 or 24th) area interested in hosting a house concert drop me an email at info (at) jonathankingham.com I'd love to talk with you. The new album is coming along nicely. Most of the tracking is done and i'm working on vocals and string arrangements.
In October i'll be back out on the road with my good friend Glen Phillips on the east coast/midwest and then in November we'll be doing a west coast swing. Most of the shows will be a co-bill with Glen and Jonatha Brooke. Should be incredible. They are two of my favorite songwriters so i feel honored to be out with them supporting glen.
Summer....?
Thu, Jul. 3 2008
Happy summer everyone! Or at least it is supposed to be summer....I returned home last night to Seattle and it poured rain, but I guess that's about par for the course for Seattle around the 4th of July.
Its been a while since i've posted any bulletins. Things have been crazy busy to say the least. The last few months have been a whirlwind but there have been some really great times had for sure. Where to start?
The two tours with my good friend Glen Phillips were awesome. He has some of the best fans in the world and getting to play for them night after night reminded me why I do what I do. Everyone was so kind, attentive and supportive and it was a great couple of weeks. I think we ended up doing close to 35 shows together from California to New York and it was a blast. We got got caught in a whiteout snow storm in Colorado, a personal tour of NASA in Washington DC, drove about 5,000 miles, listened to a lot of “This American Life” and drank a bit too much coffee-we even got to have his two oldest daughters on tour with us for a week on the east coast which was cool. If that’s not rock and roll I’m not sure what is…..I’ll post pictures shortly of all these good times.
I spent a good bit of June in Nashville and the Southeast playing in North Carolina and Atlanta and thoroughly enjoyed spring in the south instead of Spring in Seattle and came back just in time to catch the first days of sun. Last weekend the band and I played one of my favorite places,  Icicle Ridge Winery for 300 of their wine club members and it was a magical night. Such great people that own and run the winery and great wine too!
When not behind the wheel I’ve been behind the mic working diligently on my new album which is coming along nicely but as always taking longer than I thought I would. I’m hoping to have it for the fall touring season which I’m currently in the process of planning out which brings me to….
I’m putting together a fall tour through Oregon, Idaho, Utah and Colorado. If anyone has suggestions on places to play or is interested in hosting a house concert please contact me at info (at) jonathankingham.com. I’m booking shows in September and October and would love to hear from you.
Finally, a few weeks ago I launched the  Exact Records Website I run a small record label that helps a few other musicians get music out to the world. Take a look around and check it out. The latest release is by a singer name  Mycle Wastman and he’s phenomenal. His debut album is called “The Beautiful Stay” and its an excellent record.
As always I’d love to hear from any of you and if you’re interested you can always buy some music and support independent musicians.

Mycle Wastman CD Release at Benaroya Hall 3/14/08
Tue, Mar. 11 2008
This friday March 14th at 8pm I'll be performing with my good friend Mycle Wastman at Benaroya Hall

You can obtain tickets online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/25727 or by calling 800.838.3006.

I'll do an opening set and then Mycle and his band will take the stage. The evening will be a celebration of the release of his debut album "The Beautiful Stay". I had the pleasure of co-writing and producing the album with Mycle and Ryan Smith. I really feel like it is a classic record and Mycle is quite possibly the best singer i've ever been able to work with.

You can check him out at http://www.myspace.com/myclewastman or buy it at http://www.exactrecords.com If you are in the Seattle area I strongly encourage you to come out. It will be a fun night. I'll be taking off for the east coast tour with Glen Phillips at the end of the month and won't be performing in Seattle until June so this is your last chance to catch a Seattle show for a while.

In Studio News I've got basic tracks done for 8 songs for my new CD which i'm hoping to finish in the next few weeks so please check back soon.

2008 and beyond
Tue, Jan. 29 2008
Its seems unbelievable that '07 is gone. As the new year dawns I have to take a moment to reflect on the blessings and good times of the past year. Along the way I got to see and experience some incredibly beautiful places - Alaska in both the winter and summer, lake Chelan, Mexico, Utah and the Southwestern states in the spring, Nashville in the middle of a heat wave, and fall in the great Northwest. I spent most of the year touring with my good friend and keyboard player Ryan Smith criss-crossing the country playing for some awesome audiences. Everyone we met treated us so kindly. After a while all the hotel rooms start to look them same and hotels are judged by what the free breakfast buffet has to offer and whether or not the pool is long enough to actually swim in.... So it really is the support of the people we meet on the road that makes it all enjoyable. 2008 will find me back out on the road for a couple of upcoming tours with my good friend Glen Phillips. We'll be hitting the west coast and then the midwest and East coast. I promise to be better at these posts and maybe even get out a regular mailer to everyone on the list. So thanks for your patience and support. It is you who keeps a smile on my face and my bills paid. And so as i write from the Hampton Inn in Spokane, WA with the snow from yesterday's record snowstorm piled high outside the window, i look to the new year with hope and optimism and the expectation of more great things to come. I look forward to seeing you down the road.
Fall has fallen....
Wed, Oct. 17 2007
Yup, its true- summer is indeed over and by the looks of it, fall is going to be rather short lived before it gives up the good fight with winter. So what better a time could there be to play some shows and then hole up in the studio and record an album. We've got a bunch of college shows just posted to the calendar along with another show Nov 6th with the lovely ladies of Raining Jane at the beautiful Columbia City Theater in Seattle. All ages welcome. http://www.columbiacitytheater.com

Then in December i'll be hiding out in the studio for a few weeks working on a new record that I hope to have available some time in March 08.

Lately I've been busy on the road breaking in the new Mazda Minivan and when I'm home I've had the privilege of co-writing and producing an album for the incredibly talented Mycle Wastman. Check him out on myspace at www.myspace.com/myclewastman to hear how crazy good this guy is. His record is going to be off the chart, chain, hook, heezy- all of those things.... So keep an ear to the track for him.

NEW LOWER PRICE ON ALBUMS

Full album digital downloads are now only $9.49 from my website, just click the "buy the music" link above.

On the horizon are a couple of tours in Spring 08 with my friend Glen Phillips. http://www.glenphillips.net It looks like we'll be hitting CO, AZ, CA, OR, WA, in Feb. Then the Northeast the end of March and then the Midwest beginning of April. Stay tuned for more specifics. I'll also be playing with him Jan 19-24th on the Rockboat leaving out of Miami.

good times indeed.....
Fall planning
Mon, Jul. 23 2007
Hopefully the sun will come out some time soon and dry things out. Folks are starting to get grumpy in Seattle. What a great month it has been inspite of the summer rains we've been having in Seattle..... The winery shows at Wapato Point Cellars and Icicle Ridge Winery have certaintly been highlights of the summer and there are a few more summer shows coming up including a tour to Alaska, a show at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and more on the horizon. This year has been the busiest touring year so far. I think close to 60 shows since January and I'm currently booking up the fall and winter months. If anyone is interested in hosting a concert at their school, home, club, festival, winery or wherever, please drop an email to info@jonathankingham.com I've been in the studio lately writing with Ryan Smith and one of the best singers in Seattle, Mycle Wastman in preparation for the release of his album. I'm also compiling songs for my next album which i will hopefully begin recording in the fall and have available in time for christmas. Stay tuned for more details. As always you can buy MP3's directly from this website or if you prefer you can find them at www.itunes.com as well. thanks for coming by and checking in. best, Jonathan
Alaska report and upcoming portland and seattle area shows
Sun, Mar. 4 2007
The trip last weekend to Alaska was absolutely incredible. Sondra, Pat, Josh and the rest of the crew at UAS were so kind to us. Ryan and I donned cross country skiis and waddled across a frozen lake to get a look at an enormous glacier. The show in Juneau was a blast and we even got some sunshine while we were there. I've put some pics of our trip in the photos section. Then we flew to stockton for a show at UOP were the audience was very kind, the cafeteria sandwiches were toasted, and the sun was not shining. We shared the bill with a local group of students from UOP called Brubeck Institue and they absolutely burned it up. They paid tribute to Freddie Hubbard and they all could turn it out in a ferocious way. Last night we were at WSU for up all night and a good time was had by all. Nachos from Q'doba, all the bottled water a man could want and ryan and i got to stay in the Victorian Honeymoon suite since the hotel was sold out due to a cougar basketball game. Sounds like heaven don't it? This week finds us heading south to portland and salem for a string of show then a night or two at home. Finishing out the week in Tacoma with some great seattle songwriters and then we're off to Utah and beyond. Please check back as i'm trying to get better at posting to this blog.....
2007 shaping up....Alaska, California, Oregon and Utah oh my
Thu, Feb. 22 2007
I've been terrible about updating this blog but i've been busier than ever lining up shows and hitting the road. I got to spend a couple of weeks in Jan doing some writing in Nashville and have been playing a ton of shows. There are a lot of shows on the calendar and I'll be adding more summer wineries and festivals in the coming weeks once i get the details finalized.

I'll be finalizing the site in the next week or so adding more lyrics and t-shirts as well. as always, thanks for your support and see you down the road. -Jonathan
